Born in the south, raised in the northeast, lived in NYC & LA, traveled the country, now back living and writing in the south. "You Promised Me Poems" highlights much of this time.
Loved outdoor cycling in NYC. Rode all over including NYC to Vero Beach by bike. Then I found the Peloton. An influencer's enthusiasm got me writing "Station 30." Paperback available now!
I love to write and hear the news and report on the world as it appears before us. I hope you'll read and share and discover with me! Any type of help is always appreciated!
I grew up in the 90s. Some of the best music from that time came out of Bristol: Portishead, Tricky, and Massive Attack. "KarmaComa" is a song written by the artist Tricky. He recorded it first as a member of Massive Attack; later re-recorded as "Overcome." Tricky's music is a big influence in my writing.
Feeling stifled in a cramped suburban upbringing is nothing out of the ordinary. The cerebral protagonist in Jesse Schmitt’s autobiographical "karmacoma: a memoir," continually takes roads that lead to extreme outcomes.
On this 1995 day an automobile accident triggers a 19-day coma. Days, weeks and months later, recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury requires a great deal of effort; especially for a character who thinks he knows everything already. The book resolves with a reckoning that some connections are worth everything and many others need be left to the side of the road.

My first collection of poetry; "You Promised Me Poems" is available as either a digital download to a Kindle supported device/app or in paperback.
A fresh take on some raw emotions, "Aftermath" is a treaties on the life we have left and the lives which left us too soon. And Tom Brady. And running idiots off of a bridge in our car. So, you know, something for everyone.
"NUMERALS" is a book of poems about numbers! From the length of time we have left on the Merry Go Round to the number of days we have left to live; to the amount of seconds until that guitar solo to the amount of money left in our bank account, numbers are on our minds. This collection ends at less than less than zero and starts up around one hundred thousand quadrillion vigintillion. Or thereabouts.
A Peloton love odyssey, "Station 30" is the story of a troubled man and his meditation with the waves. His teetering grip on reality comes with devastating consequences. Available in digital and paperback!
For many of us, during Covid-19, our Peloton has been a lifesaver. Being able to take live and on demand classes with our favorite instructors and friends from home is a viable outlet. Denis Morton is one such spin and yoga instructor who has captivated the hearts and minds of a subsection of the Peloton world. Cobbled together via social media from our collective recollections, "THE TAO OF DENIS" is as much a motivator for life as it is a fantastical escape.
Being a rideshare driver comes with some interesting stories. This collection of 21 tales from the driver's seat in Charleston South Carolina is as much a meditation on life as it is an indictment of our collective soul. Read "wanna__ride" for fun, reflection, or for a peek inside the lives of some Low Country OG's.
Another trip down Low Country Lane, "wanna__ride vol 2" carries you off with detailed analysis of electronic vehicles, Build Back Better, Covid 19 paranoia, and wedding jitters. From the 1990s.
The third volume in the "wanna__ride" series goes all the way to Denmark and shows off the many dynamic sides of some of the ladies who visit the Low Country. Whether or not you can get them to cross a bridge...well that's another story.
More rideshare stories from the heart of the Lowcountry. wanna__ride vol 4 takes us to meet Courtney and find out why she's legitimately walking away from an all-but done deal, we'll meet a couple of domineering out-of-towners on a boat, and we'll talk to Cora about her awkward Easter visit home. Marina from New York is an unwelcome guest at an old-school Italian wedding, what does Amy Whispers?..."Not Dave Ramsey." -- and so much more! Check it out; then find the podcast!
